High-end Residential Interior Design Assistant 

SAN FRANCISCO

One of our most prestigious High-end Residential Interior Design clients in San Francisco is looking for a talented Interior Designer Design Assistant for a full-time position. This is either going to be a direct-hire or temp-to-hire opportunity depending on the candidate's qualifications and interests. The Assistant Designer will work on all facets of multiple projects from proposals, status updates, meeting set-ups, fabric, shipping and vendor follow-ups, AutoCAD drawings, and order expediting. They are looking for a detailed oriented, proactive person.

Responsibilities:
· Manage multiple projects simultaneously with an eye for detail

· Perform online product resourcing

· Assist with shopping and designing

· Gather quotes

· Check lead times

· Reserve fabrics, record and notify Designer if an extension is needed

· Request and expedite samples

· Prepare proposals using Design Manager and process vendor invoices

· Interface with vendors via phone calls and shop visits to coordinate production and expedite orders

· Review project plans and understand project scope, completion schedules and other related documents

· Assist in tracking project activities by maintaining and updating project files, schedules and other Excel documents, purchase orders and all other project materials in an organized, accurate, and accessible manner

· Create and update furniture plans

· Work with team and vendors to coordinate deliveries, storage and orchestrate installations.

· Take personal responsibility for resolving project problems in a timely and effective manner when appropriate

Criteria for Selection:
- Relevant education, preferably a degree in design or related studies

- Relevant interest and experience, preferably 1 - 4 years prior work at a design firm

-Acceptable schedule and availability: full time

- Ability to read architectural and furniture plans

- Experience with AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp; hand drafting skills preferred

-Competency in Word, Excel, Outlook,

-Ability to understand project scope and to prioritize multiple projects tasks accordingly

- Ability to drive and use of personal car preferred

-Knowledge of showrooms and design resources

- Excellent communication skills
